Eve University Wiki Structure

Eve Uni as an organization

At this point, Eve Uni has grown pretty insuluar.  Is the job of eve uni to keep pilots there?  Is it there to grow the alliance and grow bigger and stronger and have fun?  Is it to train people on the very basics and move them onto careers of their own?

This is the core question that needs to get answered first.

Everyone wants to have a goal of their organization.  If eve uni's goal is to train pilots, moving them onto better things, then maybe a major reorg should be considered.

Eve Uni as a wiki

Let's use Croissants as an example.

Eve Uni has in the starting page alone, for a prospective miner:  https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Getting_Started_in_EVE_Online  -> https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Mining_Primer_for_Complete_Beginners

However, this is the page that miners can find.

I think a fundamental restructure of the 'important' parts should be done.   A functional guide.

Vets get immune to the problems of new players VERY quickly.  They are not helping.

To see these examples, take ANY random rookie chat exerpt.  Say 'What page on eve uni could i direct them to.'

These URLS should also show what parts they are in.

Front Page

It's a common practice to send new players to the eve uni.  But where can they click to learn eve here?

Bluish-Purple is stuff about eve uni and joining them as a corp.  Pink is how the wiki works.  Nav bar on the right has zero detail on things beyond wiki thinks.

Only the two circles show you how to play eve, in any sense.

I would challenge anyone to ask their parents or a partner or a friend who doesn't play eve:  How do I learn to play eve via this interface?

Minecraft as a wiki

Minecraft has arguably as many problems as us.  https://minecraft.wiki/

What does their page look like?

It has a very clear picture of different 'things' you do in game. Trading, brewing, enchanting, Mobs, Blocks.  We'll do mining again:

We'll go to Tutorials / Mining.  https://minecraft.wiki/w/Tutorial:Mining
